Educational Centre
The Educational Centre Dropie project will provide modern, experiential, and inclusive climate education for educators, students, children, pupils, and the general public. The project includes the expansion of educational programs—originally developed under the Living Lab Dropie project—that focus on climate change, adaptation, and sustainability. It also entails transforming an existing accommodation building into a modern, accessible, and environmentally friendly educational centre.
Thanks to solutions such as photovoltaics, heat pumps, green roofs, and water reuse, the building itself will become a “building that teaches about the climate.” It will also feature residency programs, educational events, and the “Climate and Water” campaign.
The project partner is the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
Project activities include: 1 development, verification, and evaluation of innovative educational climate programs, 2 reconstruction of the Dropie Educational Centre—a "building that teaches" and 3 project information activities. You can read more about these activities in the "About the Project" menu or on the SAŽP (SEA) website.
The Educational Centre Dropie project utilizes a grant of EUR 4,000,000 from Norway Grants. The project is co-financed from the state budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of EUR 600,000.
The project aim is to create and implement innovative residential climate programs and construct a modern, climate-resilient “building that teaches,” transforming climate education into an experiential process and contributing to the fulfillment of the strategy for environmental education, training, and awareness-raising.
