Visiting rules


1.    Entering the Dropie area

When entering the Dropie area, report you arrival to Dropie Infocenter,  get familiar with the visiting rules and comply with their establishments.

2. Smoking and open fire prohibited

Smoking and the use of open fire is strictly PROHIBITED throughout the area, except reserved premises.

3. Keeping the area clean and sorting waste

Please keep the area clean and tidy. Waste must be sorted into the appropriate containers. Glass belongs in the green container (at the gate no. 2), plastics in the yellow container, paper in the blue one, and biodegradable waste in the composters. Used compostable dishes (without plastic) torn into smaller pieces also belong in the composters.

4. Disposable plastics banned

Do not use disposable plastic products (balloons, straws, plates and other plastic containers) in the Dropie area.

5. Driving and parking a motor vehicle

The Dropie area is primarily suitable for walking or cycling. Driving a motor vehicle is prohibited, with the exception of the necessary transport of materials to the area's facilities (e.g. supplies, technical service), or the transport of persons with reduced mobility. Parking is permitted only in the marked parking lot at gate no. 2.

6. Playgrounds and safety

When using playgrounds and other attractions within the Dropie area, observe safety principles and follow the playground operating rules. Children´s safety is the responsibility of the person who were authorized during the stay at Dropie. Wooden carved animal sculptures ar not intended to be play elements - do not allow children to climb on them, play, sit or damage them. There is a risk of injury.

7. Entry with pets

Pets are allowed in Dropie only on a lead and under the supervision of an adult, reporting this visit to the Dropie staff. Guide and assistance dogs are case of exception.

8. Feeding the animals

   Do not feed the animals, and treat them with respect. With the previous            approval of the staff, you can offer suitable treats to animals (e.g. dry bread, carrot, apple etc.).

9. An observation tower and children moving around in the area

An observation tower is intended for visitors to observe the surrounding landscape. During the ascent to the observation tower, take extra care of your safety when using it. Children under the age of 15 are only allowed to visit the tower with adult supervisor. A maximum of 7 people can stay on the tower at one time. In other outdoor and indoor spaces of the Dropie area, children may only move around accompanied by a legal representative. In the case of organised groups, the presence of pedagogical supervision is required.

10. Aggressive people and consequences of alcohol consumption

Aggressive people, practises or behavior, resulting from alcohol consumption or use of narcotics, threatening other visitors or animals, is not accepted in Dropie, and will be sanctioned by exclusion from the area.

11. Liability for damages

Dropie is not liable for any injuries to health or damage caused by failure to comply with visiting rules. The user or his/her legal representative is liable for any damage caused by irresponsible handling of Dropie property. In case of damage, the user or his/her legal representative is obliged to cover the costs associated with repair or replacement.

12. Photo documentation and event records

Dropie reserves the right to make photo documentation and video recordings of selected events, programs and activities carried out by employees of Dropie. The recordings obtained in this way will be used exclusively for presentation and educational purposes of Slovak environmental agency (SEA). Photos and videos are not used for commercial purposes and are not provided to third parties. If you do not want your photos or videos to be used for presentation purposes of SEA, you can request their removal at any time at katarina.vajlikova@sazp.sk.

13. Camera recording and personal data protection

The external and internal premises of Dropie are monitored by a camera system 24 hours a day. The purpose of processing camera recordings is exclusively to protect the life and health of persons and the protection of property in the area. The legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of the operator pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 letter f) GDPR. This legitimate interest was assessed by a balancing test in relation to the rights and freedom of the data subjects. Camera recordings are stored for a maximum of 30 days. After this period, they are automatically deleted unless they are necessary for the exercise of legal claims, resolution of an incident or provision of cooperation to public authorities. Recordings from the camera system are not used for marketing or other presentation purposes. They may be provided exclusively to law enforcement agencies or other authorities in accordance with legal regulations. The operator is the Slovak Environmental Agency, Tajovského 28, 975 90 Banská Bystrica. Other information about the processing of personal data is available at www.dropie.sazp.sk.

14. Cases of emergency and safety measures

Report serious incidents (e.g. fire, injuries, losses, finds, etc.) immediately to the Infocenter. In case of serious danger, call the Integrated Rescue System hotline 112. In the case of fire that cannot be safely extinguished by available means in its start, immediately move to the evacuation area for visitors - gate no. 2 - collective parking lot by the educational trail.


The PGR enters into force on February 1, 2026 and replaces the PGR 01/2022 Visiting rules of Dropie from Februara 14, 2022.
