The international GREEN WORLD competition starts on the occasion of World Food Day (16th October)

Pupils from the elementary school in Zemianska Olča created a work of art for World Food Day on October 16th as part of a creative food workshop at Ecocenter Dropie, Zemianska Olča in Slovakia. They wanted to point out the possibilities of using natural resources - various fruit, edible weeds, wild food etc. suitable for consumption, the necessity of sensible handling of food, and ways of using excess or leftover food.

The main idea of ​​the 29th annual GREEN WORLD competition, entitled "Magic in Every Leftover", is closely linked to this theme. You can submit works in 2 competition categories: 1st - drawing, painting, graphics, combined techniques, 2nd - black and white and color photography.

Competition works must meet the following technical conditions:

In the category of drawing, painting, graphics, combined techniques - do not roll or fold the works. Do not send works that are three-dimensional, glazed, framed or on CD/DVD media. Work format - maximum A0. Each art work must be marked with title, the author´s name and age.

In the black and white and color photography category, only author's own original photographs related to the theme of the competition can be entered into the competition. Each competitor can enter a maximum of 3 photographs sent in electronic form (minimum photo resolution 2,000 px, maximum file size 10 MB). Photographs must not be additionally edited using software. Each photograph must be marked with title, the author's name and age.

By submitting photographs to the competition, the author agrees to their further use for educational, promotional, exhibition and awareness-raising activities carried out by the Slovak Environmental Agency.

Competition works must be sent to the organizer's address by February 15, 2026. Works delivered after the deadline will not be included in the competition.

PLEASE BE AWARE: Competition works will not be returned to the authors or the school!
